Exploring the Four Cardinal Directions of Engaged Ecology
Schumacher Sprouts and L’Arbre qui Pousse launched in spring 2026 the Campus de l’Arbre, a campus embedded within the Ecolieu, along with its first Engaged Ecology Training. This four‑month residential program is structured around a compass of four cardinal directions — four complementary ways of relating to the Living World in its broadest sense and acting for the transition.
🧭 Module 1 — North — Restoring our connection to the Earth (March) Courses and workshops to understand the Earth system, cultivate practical knowledge related to soil life and the water cycle, and develop a systemic perspective.
🧭 Module 2 — West — Growing in discernment and sensitivity (April) Courses and seminars to regulate emotions and develop bodily awareness, define one’s project based on personal values, and initiate inner transition.
🧭 Module 3 — South — Experiencing collective intelligence and action (May) Time dedicated to learning how to live together beyond separation logics, with seminars to explore collective intelligence, engagement, and resilience.
🧭 Module 4 — East — Cultivating imagination and creativity (June) Walking courses and workshops to meet, co‑create, and explore imaginaries at the crossroads of arts, sciences, ecology, and philosophy.
