The Peacemaker’s Path
Speaking of Peace in challenging times
Join us for an inspiring afternoon and evening dedicated to peace, in the presence of renowned peace activist and environmentalist Satish Kumar. Together, we will explore how to cultivate peace in a world marked by uncertainty and division.
Conscious walk, ‘the path of the peacemaker’ (4.30pm)
Prior to the conference, we invite you to take part in a 1.5-hour mindful walk guided by Nikita Stampa, pilgrim of peace. This walk will be an invitation to walk together, in full presence, to explore what it means to embody peace in everyday life.
We will alternate between moments of silence, inspirational readings and collective reflections on peace, connection and our commitment to the world. The walk will be a sensory experience, inviting us to reflect on our role as peacemakers.
“To be a pilgrim is to be on a path of adventure, to move out of our comfort zones, to let go of our prejudices and preconditioning, to make strides towards the unknown.” S. Kumar

Before the conference, there will be an opportunity to share a delicious (vegan) meal together. A convivial moment to savour a gourmet and colourful plate. The meal will be an opportunity to meet up and extend the discussions initiated during the walk.

The Peacemaker’s Path, a conversation with Satish Kumar (conference at 8pm - held in EN)
At a time when societies are fractured, relationships strained, and the earth’s capacity to sustain life as we know it under threat, we are called to rethink our role as peacemakers. How can we engage with the world in a way that heals rather than harms? How can we move beyond fear and division to build communities rooted in compassion and shared humanity?
Join us for a fireside chat with Satish Kumar as he explores what it truly means to cultivate peace in challenging times. Drawing from decades of experience in nonviolence, deep ecology, and transformative education, he will share his wisdom and practical insights on fostering a culture of peace and cooperation in a world increasingly marked by conflict, polarization and ecological urgency.
This event is open to all – educators, activists, students – and anyone seeking wisdom and inspiration for creating a more just and peaceful world.
Satish Kumar is a peace activist, environmentalist and former Jain monk. He has been committed to non-violence and social justice for over 60 years. A tireless pilgrim, he covered more than 8,000 miles in the 1960s, crossing the world on foot to advocate nuclear disarmament. Co-founder of Schumacher College and editor of the magazine Resurgence & Ecologist, he works for a fairer world through education and ecology, with love and interconnection as his compass. His message is a vibrant call to action.
